20160923livinginperusunsetflowers-005Although the time since my last post has been filled with life’s little stumbles, I have finally managed to finish up chapter 20. In addition, I went back through the first 10 chapters and made the edits that my grammar specialist suggested. A couple of days ago, I sent the full twenty chapters off to have the grammar checked again. I thank my 20160922_100000lucky stars every day that I have friends who are willing to help me become a better writer. Now to start on the next ten chapters. I’m hoping to get a good start on 21 today and have it finished by the end of the weekend. Writing has definitely taken a back seat to all the other stuff that’s going on in my life right now. If all goes well the next few days, I should be able to re-concentrate my efforts into finishing the book over the next couple of months.

20160922_100152Along with the writing, my photography walks have suffered, although not nearly as bad. I have managed to get in one good walk and a visit to a new park gave me the opportunity to get some great shots of roses that had just come into bloom. I love the camera on my new Galaxy S7 Edge. It takes excellent photos but There is one function from the S5 that I miss, the ability to zoom. Although it would only do 4X, that did help in certain situations where I was unable to get close to the object I20160922_100317 was trying to capture. Most of the photos in this post are from the new phone’s camera. I used the phones editing program to adjust the contrast a little in them. It was a very cloudy morning. Can you tell which ones were take with the phone and which ones with my Canon?

20160923livinginperusunsetflowers-014My experiences the past week have had mostly to do with my dentist. I came up with the cash to fix the bridge and we started on the process last Friday. Since then I have had four two hour appointments while he worked on repairing the damage and strengthening roots that will hold the replacement bridge. I balked at the cost of the this but in 20160923livinginperusunsetflowers-016reality, his prices are incredibly cheap. The entire cost of the six tooth bridge with porcelain crowns is S/3000 Soles or $900. That’s $150/crown. Try getting a price like that in the US. I still have at least two more appointments with him. In the last one, he took molds so that the new crowns could be fastened onto the repaired roots. The entire experience, although 20160923livinginperusunsetflowers-013upsetting my writing schedule, has been very pleasant once again. Something I thought I would never be saying about visits to the dentist. Otherwise, I’m still enjoying living in the new apartment. We have a gated garage to park the car in now, so we don’t have to worry about thieves again. My rode bushed are doing well and in bloom again (pics included).

Coffee and chat was canceled this past Saturday. Everyone had other things to do, 20160922_100437including me. For one, my friend Kathy came over to see our new apartment and to have lunch. We enjoyed some nice food at the Café Francés around the corner from the apartment. Frank, the owner, joined us after we ate and chatted with us for a bit. He’s French but we 20160923livinginperusunsetflowers-007never got to the point in our conversation to find out why he came to Peru. I did enjoy cocktails on the patio with Mona and Kelly last Friday. They had to take their end onto their covered porch. A nice thunderstorm with rain moved through just as we were beginning. We did have a lot of problems with our connection also and in the end had to give up the ghost a little early. They are off to Mississippi this weekend so no cocktails tonight. Facebook tells me that the rest are OK. No one is reporting any major problems.

That brings another post to a close. I truly hope that all of you are staying active mentally and physically. Remember to get up and get out – move it, use it, or lose it. May love and laughter fill your coming week. Peace!
